1.What we need from you
You provide
- Valid passport original for inspection; copies must be certified
- Business plan (Ministry of Economy template) with proof of viability: contracts, orders, references with us we prepare it with you; the key document
- Criminal record extract from your home country (and any country where, in the last 3 years, you stayed more than 90 days within 6 consecutive months) with us not older than 90 days; apostille or superlegalisation + certified Slovak translation; we arrange it without you travelling
- Proof of housing for at least 6 months: notarised owner declaration, notarised lease or accommodation provider confirmation signed by all owners; signatures notarised; not older than 90 days; we check it before filing
- Bank balance confirmation in your name of 12× the subsistence minimum (from 1 Jul 2026 = €3,542.64) the amount changes every July; not older than 90 days
- Business account balance: 20× subsistence minimum for sole trader (€5,904.40), 100× for company (€29,522), 40× for innovative project a different account from the personal one; amounts from 1 Jul 2026
- State fee 330 € + €10 residence card (€39 within 2 working days) with us we buy the eKolok and invoice it; e-filing −50%, max −€50; children under 18 pay no fee
- Health insurance in Slovakia with us take out within 3 working days of receiving the card, submit within 30 days; not attached for employment and study; we help choose an insurer
- Medical report confirming no disease threatening public health with us only after approval: within 30 days of receiving the card, not older than 30 days; designated clinics only (e.g. Košice, Bratislava) – we book the appointment
- Power of attorney for migrant.sk with us our template; signature certified (or signed at the foreign police)
We arrange
- Trade licence or commercial register extract we arrange it (Trade licence / S.r.o. service)
Where clients most often fail: housing and finances
- Housing: you need a notarised declaration by ALL owners, or a notarised lease in your name. A plain lease without certified signatures is not enough. At least 6 months.
- Finances: a bank confirmation of the balance on an account in your name. The amount is 12× the subsistence minimum (from 1 Jul 2026 €3,542.64 in total); for business an extra separate business account. Not older than 90 days.
- Every document issued abroad needs an apostille (or superlegalisation) and a certified Slovak translation. Translate after the apostille.
- No document may be older than 90 days on the filing day (except marriage and birth certificates).
